Should We Spend One Hour or More to Get Discount?

Yes or No. Mathematically speaking, it is mainly dependent on your income or the ability to earn money. In this post, I am going to use a very simple mathematic to explain my argument.

To answer such question, we need to know our monthly income. It is very straightforward for those have stable monthly salary or income. Otherwise, you may consider using the average income for the following computation.

For example, if your monthly income is $10,000, then your average day income will be around $400 (if you work 25days per month). If you work 8 hours per day in average, then your income per hour will be $50. In other words, you should consider to spend < more hour to get a discount that more than $50. If it will take around two hours to have that discount, you better make sure the discount is worth at least $100 ($50 times 2).

In other words, if you save $10.00 in hour, it is equivalent to earning $M10 per hour. If you work 8 hour per day, with $10 per hour, your expected income per day is $80. With 25 working days per month, your month salary is expected to be $2000. Therefore, obviously, if you basic monthly salary is lower than $2000, the saving of $10 in one hour is worthy to be executed. Besides that, if you are going to buy the essential things or grocery that needed for your daily basis, it is even worthy.

As you can see, by using this approach, you will have better idea to spend our time to optimize the return from our spent time.
