After explaining what is money and the risk of saving previous, I believe another misleading mindset is that creating or making more money can create more wealth in our life or society. As a result, many people have dream or target to make one million or one billion dollars in their life. They spend most of their time to think about the ways to create more money via various "resources" in order to achieve that dream or target faster. They even risk their limited money and life so that the dream/target can be achieved quickly. However, they almost forget what is money and why money exists.
Money is a tangible and visible thing that used to replace the intangible and invisible values created in bartering system. For example, when you spend your precious time to catch some fishes from sea, you can use some fishes to exchange some vegetable that farmed by somebody else who spent his precious time as well to make it. So, as you can see, people spend their precious time to produce "values" that needed by somebody else.
Instead of focusing on make money, I would like to encourage you to make and create more values. The values can be anything that benefits to somebody in the world. For example, sharing a precious and helpful experience or tips via blogging can also make money as soon as the sharing impacts the readers positively.
The main reason why business people make more money than employers is business people create jobs (values) to somebody else (receivers, i.e. employers). Although someone suggests that "leveraging" other people resources (e.g. time and money) can make more money quickly, I believe it is just part of the story.
I believe all people have their choice to enjoy their life. So, earning or making big money does not necessary the ultimate dream of many people. Please observe what the rich guy doing in this world. They are trying to contribute more to this world, by distribute their excessive money to the needy. So, what they make from their donation? Yes, it is another value, the so-called reputation. Interestingly, I will like to point out that "earning reputation" does not necessary need money.
Allow me to recap the idea again:
As you can see, money is just the "middle man" or "intermediary" between the things we need or want and the values we create. Remember, only the things that contribute positively to somebody else can be considered as values. If we simply create problems to somebody else, we consume and reduce the value that we have accumulated and earned previously.
As you probably heard that somebody simply focus his or her hobby and then create substantial wealth. I believe it is because the hobby creates values to many people. When you help other sincerely, other will respect you as well. Indeed, too many invaluable things in this world cannot be measured by money. For example, you cannot use money to "buy" sincere respect from other people in the long run. But, of course, you still can "focus" other to respect you in the short term if you got many "money".
