As genuine Microsoft Windows users, there are few useful and free securities software provided by Microsoft to protect our laptop or desktop computers. In this post, I am going to list out and mini-review all of them that I have used for years.
1. Microsoft Security Essentials
-to guard against viruses, spyware, and other evil software.
-provides real-time protection for your home or small business PCs.

2. Microsoft Safety Scanner
-provides on-demand scanning and helps remove viruses, spyware, and other malicious software.
-expires 10 days after being downloaded. (need to re-download and re-run again for latest anti-malware definitions)
-is not a replacement for using an antivirus software program that provides ongoing protection.

3. Malicious Software Removal Tool
-is an anti-malware utility that checks computers running Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Server 2003 for infections by specific, prevalent malicious software—including Blaster, Sasser, and Mydoom.
-helps remove malware and any other infections found.
-Microsoft will release an updated version of this tool on the second Tuesday of each month.

As a friendly reminder, please choose compatible software that suit your Windows version (e.g. 32 bit or 64 bit).
Lastly, as a rule of thumb, never open your gate for any suspicious person. In other words, never visit or open or execute any suspicious website and software. That's all for today.
