Maybank Alert: Restore Your Account Access.

This is a very dangerous scam email. This scam email is trying to review your password and username of your Maybank account. The content of this scam email is shown below:

We employ appropriate technical security measures to protect your personal information and ensure that it is not accessed by unauthorised persons. Information storage is on secure computers in a locked information centre and information is encrypted wherever possible.

Our security procedures also provide that we may request proof of identification before we will release personal information to you. We undergo periodic reviews of our security policies and procedures to ensure that May Bank systems are secure and protected

However, your account have been flagged by our security team. We therefore require additional information in order to restore full access to your online banking account. Click the link below to proceed


Failure to comply to the instructions stated above might lead to permanent service suspension.

So, why this is a scam email? The answer is in the link which is email is trying to ask you to go and login your account.


If you look carefully, this link will never link your page to Maybank Official website but redirect your page to "http://www.wwtgsaintefoy2010.org/images/smilies/M2ULogin.doaction=Login.htm"

Thanks for Firefox and those report this website as an identity theft. As you can see from the picture above, "http://www.wwtgsaintefoy2010.org' has been reported as a web forgery. Besides, Maybank or any other bank will never ask their client to disclose their username and password via email.

As a rule of thumb, call to the authority of the bank to ask for verification if you find some doubtful email.
