Three Scam and Phishing Emails - Important Alert from Maybank ?

Recently, I receive few scam emails which were trying to phishing my Maybank account password, I guess. Based on the rule of thumb which I mention before (i.e. 8 ways to identify spam email), we can identify this kind of scam or phishing email in seconds. The details of these three phishing emails I received are stated as follows:

First Scam Details:
Subject: - URGENT ! Attention Required -
From: Maybank2u.com mbb-berhad3@freenet.de>

Redirect URL: http://connectmbbi01.addr.com/a3.htm


Second Scam Details:
Subject: 1 Alert Message "[URGENT]"
From:     Maybank2u.com @freenet.de>
Redirect URL: http://mmbnewm2u.addr.com/tac4.htm


Third Scam Details:
Subject: Important Alert for M2U Customers
Important Alert from Maybank :
From: Maybank2u.com @freenet.de>
Redirect URL: http://cvbupdate-m2u.addr.com/4.htm

Their contents are the same as follows

Yahoo! MyBlogLog to be discontinued - A Scam Email

This is a scam email. Why? Let me quickly summarize what I have observed in this scam email that indicate it is a scam email.

1. Email did not have the Yahoo! official logo

2. Source of this email is not convincing!!
From: Yahoo! "one.yahoo-email.com>"

3. The link redirect you to other web page, that is,  "http://yahoo-email.com/a/hBNZmRnBs19FXB8XEGCNshZL4WB/mybloglog7" instead of what is shown "https://billing.yahoo.com", and "http://yahoo-email.com/a/hBNZmRnBs19FXB8XEGCNshZL4WB/mybloglog2" instead of the real help page of Yahoo!.

Online Banking Safety. Halifax Online Banking. Phishing Email

Be careful, this is some kind of phishing email. Phishing is a fraudulent attempt to get you to provide personal information, including but not limited to, account information.(http://www.phishtank.com/)

If you see carefully, this link given in this email will redirect you to http://www.dosinmusic.net/simigvis.php instead of Halifax Online Banking official website. Besides that, according to the database in http://www.phishtank.com/, http://www.dosinmusic.net is a 100% phishing website.

Kindly Acknowledge Receipt of this Email: 3 Steps to Verify a Scam Email

There are three very obvious parts in this email tell us this is a scam email.

1. First of all, the sender's email address is not from so-called Sony Ericsson. Do you believe that Sony Ericsson not afford to buy email address for their employee but got money to give you??

2. The receiver's email address is not specific. In other words, more than one people will receive this kind of email with the same Ticket number: Sony/89bgn002876/2010. How can the company who will obtain the price. All people who show out this so-called ticket number?? Come on, this is not logic and the company will bankrupt soon this email is real.

The content of this silly email is shown below. After reading this silly email, I am going to show you why I call it silly email.

This is a very dangerous scam email. This scam email is trying to review your password and username of your Maybank account. The content of this scam email is shown below:

	Important Update Date:  12/05/2010 We employ appropriate technical security measures to protect your personal information and ensure that it is not accessed by unauthorised persons. Information storage is on secure computers in a locked information centre and information is encrypted wherever possible.

Public Bank: Restore Your Online Banking Access. Phishing Email

There are lots of Phishing Email in my email box everyday. In fact, I am quite used to their pattern of cheating and spamming. Sometimes, they are quite silly. Sometimes, they are quite tactic. Therefore, we need to pay attention about these kind of emails to avoid any unnecessary losses caused by our careless and nervousness.

As a blogger, I think I should share the methods that I use to identifying these kind of cheating. Again, this email address is very convincing. But the question is... I do not have any Public Bank Account, so far. Therefore, obviously, this is another scam + spam email, again. Besides that, let me show you another two evidences to provide this is a scam + spam email.
